Yesterday was terrible day to test anything due to the sahara sand invading our air space. visibility 1 to 2 miles. Anyway I increase the size of my front wind shield is now 33 inches from bottom up. Man what a diferrence. The guys at gorund said they heared me as clear as when I am in the ground and the engine is ideling. I also heard me back thru the side tone crisp and no wind. Bad thing is now if a bit more warm in the cabin. The sped had increase around 5 miles more. so at 2100 to 2200 I am doing 70 some times it peaks up to 80. In the pass I was in 65 and going up to 70 mph.

Now the back windshield sucks. It cuts the wind in your face but now it creats some kind of eco that when youtransmit I noisier. I flew a guy in the back and he had to mute the mic with his hands. In the pass we didnt have to do this. In the pass I have a good comunication with the front seat , the transmition to the tower from the back was not that great.

I wonder if the cowling designed once for the twinstarr will reduce the engine noise. I will tke some pics later and post them

Sahara sand.

I heard that wind was bringing bacteria from the desert your way and damaging some coral reefs. You can actually see visabitly drop from the particles?

Wow.

Tim, it reduces visibility drasticaly! For the last couple of days I couldn't even see the next ridge line from my property. Normaly I can see the whole San Juan metroplex and the beaches from east of SJU to west of Dorado. Everything around my place is covered with a thin layer of extremely fine dust and many folks are suffering from respiratory problems.
