New PRA Chapter Web Site

I didn't know where to stick this post (now, you guys be nice!) so I'm putting it here. This is no great shakes but someone posted the link to PRA Chapter 62's web site in another thread and when I clicked on it I was taken to our old web site!

I don't understand the particulars but the web master has made a change and everyone should now see the new and improved one. We are still tweaking it but the layout is pretty much finished and includes a members only section with a chapter forum. It also has a picture gallery that we will be adding to once we learn how to use it. The content isn't exactly correct or up to date so that is what we will be working on next.

A big thanks goes to Robert Laird, a new PRA and Chapter 62 member and our web master, for his efforts and putting up with our nit picking. :first:

Our web master has done a great job of modifying and updating our web site and continues to surprise me (us!) with stuff like the stat info that he emailed the chapter. I tried to upload attachments that are graphics of the stats but wasn't sucessful. Once I find out what the problem is I'll upload them.

Below is an extracted part of an email the web master sent out. I suspect that the Forum members/lukers may have skewed some of the numbers after I gave an invitation to visit. It will interesting to see, like Robert says, what the numbers will look like in the months ahead.

Oh yeah, thanks to those who have visited and for those that haven't the invitation is an open one!

From the web master:

"......I think we'll get a better idea after a few months, when we can contrast and compare. The notable number above is the user-agents of 496. That means, 496 unique individuals have visited the site. They obviously visited many times (Total Visits: 4203), and clicked on multiple pages (Total Pages: 10777). Each page has multiple "objects" which, when loaded, counts as a hit, which is why the Total Hits is so high.

But, still, 496 ain't bad for a just a single PRA Chapter web site... that's 16+ NEW visits every day.

Okay, I think I have solved the problem with the attachments. They were pix that needed the extension changed to jpg.

The new website looks great. I have been following Robert Laird's adventures for years. He has a great site at TexasFlyer.com. Most of his initial flight stories are from just down the road from my house so it is really interesting seeing all the sites from around here.
