I think I may have room for a toggle switch left over.

I got the gyro all it had was EGT tiny tach, rotor tach, and VSI.

So I wanted to add a few more, The VSI is not a necessity but it is kind on cool, I installed the voltmeter because the fuse blew and it wasn't charging and I had to get a jump start at Peachstate.
Any how I wasn't in the mood to change everything right now, perhaps over the winter, But it works for now.

This is why I like the MGL instruments - you can get 2 CHT's, 2 EGT's, 1 water temp, Hobbs, and engine tach all in a single 2x2 instrument.

They can be a bit difficult to read in bright sunlight, but definitely very efficient when it comes to real estate on your instrument panel.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, Scott...I know you want to get others input on their instrumentation.

The old timers will know what I'm about here.

Granted, we have advanced so much in our machinery that instrumentation has become somewhat of a necessity for safe flight..

All I will say is...back when I was flying my MAC powered gyros, the only instrument I had was a pith ball Wind Gauge and it was about useless. I didn't look at it anyway.

Today's machinery needs some of these instruments. whatever a pilot feels he needs for safe flying...so be it.

Cheers :)

Scott, you need a small addition on that pod !

Come on Scott, I've got the seat of my pants and the pit of my stomach. I can get you a schematic of my "foot panel" if you'd like.

Too busy watching out for trees, Phil.

I know, But I have been a mechanic for all of my life, I like to know what is going on, I like to see the thermostat open up on the temp gauge, I like to know the charging system is working, Plus around here we have some wildlife areas, but you have to stay 500ft AGL above.
Plus I already had all the gauges, the only ones I bought were the ones I got from you Phil! :)

I like Less-is-more That is why I like Phil's 503 bensen so much, it is just like a chopper motorcycle, if it doesn't make it go, it isn't on there.

But I had some extra space in the pod, and already have electric start so I am going to enjoy it. :)

Scott, that altimeter is on 0ft. Did you set the barometric? What is the field elevation? Just curious, let me know if you have a problem with it, I'll make it right.

Phil.

I'm going to be out for a few days. The family suffered some blows over the weekend. I'll check the forum when I return.
