I have a chance to buy a snobird gyro with a 503 dual carb dual ign. 23ft skywheels and a wunderlich prerotator.

the swag end on the prerotator cable housing is cracked.

I don't know squat about gyros, I live in Fla. and have a private pilot license, I'm also an a&p mechanic on "heavy Iron"

I think gyro's are the coolest thing to come down the aviation pipe since the wing.

I'd like advice from everybody on every aspect of my situation i.e. no experience, training , buying, snobirds for beginners ,the ctl thing and the horz stab thing, the crazy siht I've read on this forum in the last week has got me spooked I must admit. Is this bad blood or just family.

this was written by me after a conversation with a guy who knows a guy that I know, got that.

so please speak up or I'm gonna have to buy the gyro that I told him to buy, thanks Scott Todaro

I don't think the cracked swag on the prerotator cable is a big deal. I've seen quite a few like that. The cable housing can be replaced. Some of the others can comment on the Snobird's flight characteristics. The only thing I think would need to be done to it would be to add a larger stab.

thanks Tim,

I'm having a tough time getting the pictures sized down enough to post here.

If the pre-ro bothers him buy a new housing from wunderlick, you can get ahold of Tom Milton AKA Gyroplanes. here on the forum.

If that is the sno-bird that was at Bensen Days, it was a nice machine, very clean.

No Scott, that was sold to one of our new club members who oddly enough is also a AP.

The end piece on the flex shaft can be replaced by wunderlich's. I'm guessing, $15-20.

A&P's are wierd
