An Odessy dry-cell. I forget the number, but it's the one spec-ed for a Harley Sportster.

Same as Ken,[650].
Bullet proof batteries if ever there was one.[and no terminal corrosion or acid spill risk]
I usually get 8 months out of one on the muster'n machine, with the electric prerotater[averaging 300 starts/400 hours] and only the rotax reg/rectifier to charge it.I'v never had one open circite from the constant high currant draw while prerotating and only replace them when they start to get doughy, then they go in the RAF[for another 2 years] or the Suzuki 4+4.

Udi,
That is the battery I am using. I have about 50 flying hours with it. Works fine. My first one was a wet type motorcycle battery, but I like the sealed battery much better.
I have a trickle charger (Battery Minder) that I hook up while the gyro is in the hangar, so I have never let it run down. Everyone should have one of these. You can leave it hooked up year around, as it will not over charge the battery.

Sealed Batterys are certainly the cleanest and some can even be mounted up any way you like but it is not a good idea to use one with a high output charging system. The supplier should be able to tell you what input watts it will take.
