Well I flew the super white today, did some crow hops and taxiing earlier in the week. Today it was time to get 'er done.
Still getting used to the take offs and landings being slightly different. The stick has about twice the travel as I am used to, But it climbs out great plenty of power! Very smooth power delivery. The blades load up extremely fast making for short takeoffs.
I am very impressed, the CLT flys extremely predictable, very good flight manners,
Neither gyro has any bad tendancies they both are easy to fly, the Soma is easier on the ground, but I am sure that the dominator will be the same once I get used to it.
As much as I hate to admit it I like it.
So now I need to fly the soma some more and make a decision on which one to keep.

I warned you, the stick travel might be alot more than your used to..... Glad you liked it, but if for some reason you decide to sell it other than the hirth I would be glad to take it off your hands, Of course I can't imagine how you would want to keep the soma after tasting what a Dominator flys like!

Needs a bigger pod, needs more instruments, like an altimeter, and water temp gauge. Plus radio mount etc.

Cosmetic stuff. Are you bringing both to Bensen Days?

No pictures yet,
Yes Tim I am planning on bringing them both, and possibly just bringing one home.
I guess if I am going to get selling I'd better make up my mind.

Don't you have an EIS? You can get altitude, water temp and most anything else you want on that.

No the super white just has an ASI, VSI, EGT, Tiny Tach and rotor tach.
An EIS would be nice.
and Yes the EIS will do all that.

Instruments are for nerds.... all you need is a pair of ignition switches and a yaw string on the front.
By the time the gauges tell you somethings wrong with the engine your already screwed... These engines run great then suddenly die, that is the nature of a 2 stroke!
No pod, so no need for a airspeed indicator
Not flying in controlled airspace, so no need for a altimeter ( could use your GPS for that anyway )
Put a dual EGT, a Tiny tach and if it makes you feel better, install a water temp gauge. After that, anything else you put on it is just not needed!
Have fun, and if your going to sell one of them you need to make up your mind and list the one your selling now, so people can prepare between now and Bensen Days to come up with the cash.

True, true, But when the ASI falls off during takeoff, it makes you think that maybe there might be a better way to install the instruments, like IN the pod!
Or I could have the runway graded.
:)
But hey it was minor, and I didn't run over it. Like I said the dominator has some issues to be worked out.

Yeah, save the money on EIS systems and the such and RENT A BULLDOZER!!! and fix that bumpy runway of yours! :)

Scott, Is there even going to be a SX days 2007? If not, let's try to get something worked out with Steve and the guys in Macon to do a weekend get together there for our Chapter 13 summer fly-in.... We could call it McGowan Dayz...? Or Booters Days! They have so many gyros there and a gyro friendly flying area, might as well go there.
Was also thinking.... July in Georgia = way too dam hot! We need to do this in June, maybe early June....
Anyway what do you think?

We are just going to pass this year, We want to try to go up to Indiana this year and see some family, and hit Mentone. We haven't been up there to see my brothers and thier families in a couple of years.
Macon would be great for a small fly in.
I STARTED A NEW POST ON THE FLY-IN SUBJECT>
