Hi everyone, tomorrow I am off to new Zealand to help set up a modified Raf, and to help a CFI get organised to train new gyrp instructors.

I will be away for 12 days and will be catching up with Alan to see how the composite work is progressing.

A working holiday as it were, catching up with ex students of mine and the people involved in the Firebird project with me. :)

I should be able to log on occaissionally. 'can't help bad luck!!!!!!!! LOL

Hi guys, I am in NZ and having a great time. Tested the Raf and am pleased. We had to shift the axle back 4" and WOW!!!! it is great. The stab is set at 4 degrees negative and she flys all ok. A lot of fun

Further testing to be conducted over the next few days. This is now the most stable RAF that I have now flown.

Shifting the axle back makes the t/off much better, particularlly when solo. My experience has always been that the Raf axle is too far forward.

Having fun :D

Paul, Have you estimated how close this design is to true CLT? Also if it is close, why the neg. incidense on the stab? Great to hear you like the flying charistics. Is the stab in the prop blast? I can't tell from the picture.Have a great holiday. Larry
