Process and device for reducing vibrations generated on a helicopter fuselage by means of a steerable rudder
(European Patents Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Pub. Number EP1547919
Appl. Data EP04029681 20041215

Inventor(s) Eglin, Paul
Title Process and device for reducing vibrations generated on a
helicopter fuselage by means of a steerable rudder
AbstractHelicopter skeleton tail shake reducing method, involves
determining angle variation of vertical stabilizer generating tail shake
opposition force, from tail shake measurement, and applying variation to
control system of stabilizer angleThe method involves measuring tail
shakes created on the skeleton (17) of a helicopter (2), using three sensors
(18-20). An angle variation of a vertical stabilizer (9) susceptible to
generate tail shake opposition force is determined from the measurement. The
stabilizer is placed at a tail part of a fuselage (3) . The angle variation is
applied to a control system (10) of vertical stabilizer angle to eliminate the
tail shakes. An Independent claim is also included for a device for reducing
tail shakes created on the skeleton of a helicopter, by streamline flow across
a main rotor and streamline flow across the fuselage.Helicopter skeleton tail shake reducing method, involves determining angle
