Ran Awad Injured

Blustery day of flying marred by accident.

A South Carolina resident, Ronald Awad, was injured earlier today while attempting to assist several friends who were removing the wings from a damaged Giles 202 aircraft.

Witness Mike Bick stated: "One minute we were all holding the wing and Ron was taking some nuts off of the main spar..and the next minute...boom..blood everywhere"!

Local EMS was called to the scene and Ron' was rushed to the local hospital where he underwent an emergency nailectomy. Dr. Barry K stated that "it was a close call and he's lucky his friends called 911 as quick as they did".

Mr. Awad is expected to make a full recovery.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I think in a sport which too often is subject to tragedy, this thread is in bad taste. The content is fun, but the title had me seriously worried.

The first thing i do in any misshap, accident or bingle here is to make light fun of it, and theres never been one yet where i couldnt make sumone laugh to lift their spirits.
