Is the SparrowHawk II a new model, or is it what's currently available?

The Sparrowhawk II is the "new" revised version of the Sparrowhawk (I), and the Sparrowhawk II kit started shipping in 2006, and the Sparrowhawk (I) version is no longer shipping. Very few, if any, of the Sparrowhawk II model are flying yet. I will begin my Sparrowhawk II kit when I finish my workshop. If you look at their website, GBA incorporated many improvements of the Sparrowhawk (I) in the Sparrowhawk II.

How long ago were these Pics Taken? The reason I ask is I am supposed to continue my Training in a new factory built Sparrow hawk. I was told it would be ready to go this weekend, If this is the one it does not look like this weekend is going to happin. have not had a lesson in 3 months just waiting for the new trainer to get finished.

I kinda like the shelf addition under the MIP.
Also serves as a stiffener to the fwd, cabin and windscreen. I wonder...is the console shock mounted?!
Cheers :)

White looks nice and clean that might last 10 seconds here in the summer with all the bugs. Looks really good except for all the b.s that center pod takes up a good portion of real estate from vision in the windshield.

Jonathan,
If you look at the pictures I posted at:
http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4664,
you notice that although the center pod does occlude some of the front windscreen. It is a very minor amount on the bottom, since the pilot's eyes are relatively high in relation to the pod and windscreen. However, I plan to build my own shorter and wider pod and try to prevent any occlusion.

The shelf will deter vision from the windscreen Heather ?
I doubt that it'll be any problem...Maybe real LonnnnG legs it'll get in the way..
I agree with Jonathon about the color,, Kinda Fantasy Island reminder.

Nice, built by a team of pro's that are in the bussiness of building gyro's someone with no previouse experiance can build one like that. And it must be a Female Gyro because coolbreez just got exited shes perdy! That engine has been spit shined like did are boots in USMC. Thes engines do blow oil and over time gets mixed with dirt, lots of dirt here in Arizona. But That is one Nice Aircraft and with the right owner will fly for ever.

Colin,
My understanding is that the shelf will reduce vibration into the instrument pod.

Heather: That shelf definately will help. I dont know if you recall my pod shake fix by placing a piece of poplar that was fit very tight in the nose and screwed to the pod. It goes right over my heater and I speckle painted it. It stopped the shake the pod had and I have full visibility and knee room. If I were building mine over again....I would do the exact same thing. Its out of sight and does its job nicely.:)
