Here is some pics I took of it as I rolled it off the trailer and into the hangar.

Here you can see the Blue head 582. I took the oil injection off of it today, I would rather mix my gas than have that thing fail on me. I also filled the gear box and started installing the exhaust and plugs and so on.

Here is some of the parts I got with it. Blades were still on the trailer in the box, 24 foot dragon wings.

If anyone knows what kind of shocks those are on my gyro please tell me. There is a air valve on top and they look really cool. Wondering if I put air in them or if they are gas charged?

You dog you ! How much did you pay! Probably got a real deal! Very nice. Best of luck on the completion.

I got it at a attractive price. But I still have alot more stuff to buy. Go ahead and say it... those shocks are sweet!

Those shocks are sweet. If you find out what they are, let me know. Mine keep leaking down, I'm going to swap them out, those are cool. Wanna Trade?

Todd, are you running the air shocks that Ernie runs on his machines? If so, are you using the machined clamp Ernie makes to fit on the lower moving section?
The reason I ask is that I wasn't smart enough to figure out what their purpose was. I asked Ernie and he explained that if a shock on one side leaks enough that there is a possiblitiy of it tipping over. Those clamps are an effort to prevent that from happening.

Ron you are building a gyro I just want to let you know so don't say you are. When you start from a 24' long tube with no holes in it then we can say you are building. This thing is 90% complete.

Ron , is the old red one being flown by the new owner? Did you fly the Bensen that you are now selling? I didn't hear a report other than the blades are smooth.

Brent, don't be a sour puss, I still have a lot to do and it isn't all bolt on stuff.
Todd, Not sure I would want to trade for a set of old leaky car shocks just yet. But bring them with you when you come to pick up this Bensen.
Chris, The guy I sold the Red Dom to is being real slow about flying it. He has crow hopped it a few times and that is it as far as I know. And how would I know if the blades are smooth if I didn't fly the darn thing! lol

Ron I think those are Nitrogen filled shocks, You should not have a problem with them leaking. Dont add air to them!!!!
I think Bill Clem went to those shocks and someone else had them on a dominator just cant remember who. They are very expensive!!!!!

I assumed the shocks I have are the ones that Ernie Sells, but I don't think they are. I ordered the machined aluminum rings to keep the shocks from dropping too far and they are too small. I think these must be some other shock that Sparrow picked up.

Ron: A scrap of unasked-for advice. I have a real prejudice against bayonets aimed at my heart and other favorite body parts. Those pieces of angle that presently hold the dummy dash in place look like they'd spear you in a nose-first crash. It's a good idea to arrange your tubes and angles in the cockpit so they will splay out-and-away from you in a crash.

That sounds like good advice Doug.

Hey Ron, A guy named George (I don't know his last name) was training with Steve in Macon. He too had a Dom. I don't know if you can tell from this pics if these are the same shocks but he had to put air in them every now and again. Here's a shot of the George. Maybe you know him.
Looks really nice. Let me know if I can help in any way.

John,
Those are stock shocks Dad sells with the kit. The shocks that Sir Post Alot has appear to be the same shocks Bill Clem has. They are quite a bit more expensive. I don't think they suffer the same trouble staying inflated as the one Dad uses do. :)

Thanks for the advise Doug, will see what I can do to change it up

I heard about the tip over possibility so I flattened a tire and air shock and it was no where near tipping over.
It stresses the the keel more than you want to trailer with but no tip over as far as I could see.
