I got this from a secret source. :)
It's looking like it's been 'slicked up' for something...maybe another record or two.

When's he going to fly down to Bensen Days?

I don't know, Tim.
But that would make for a nice flight though.

He could visit us at Bensen Days and then fly over to Sun-n-Fun.

Here's another picture with the long range tanks installed.
Who knows where it might end up...

Hey folks, I went and saw Ron Herron last February, and then again in like May. he was fabbing up some airfoils to reduce the drag for some more records. Andy Keech keeps teh gyro in Ron's hangar, with the LW-2 (Hirth) and the LW-3 (Rotec). Ron's got some awesome airplanes in that hangar!!!
Anyway, i got to stand and look inside Andy's record-setting yellow Little Wing. I loved it, except those internal tanks are without a doubt the scariest things I have EVER seen...
Imagine putting a 55 gallon drum full of gas between your legs - the tank is 12 inches wide, 25-26 inches tall, and goes from about 2 inches in front of the cyclic all the way to the pedals. As in, not something I would ever try. Heck, you cannot even see the gauges on the dash. Ron was making some covers to go over the landing gear and adding wheel pants...
Update: When I was doing my funeral service fly-by's at 1M1 (North Little Rock) yesterday, I saw the little yellow beast wailing across the sky entering the 1M1 traffic pattern - boy, it looked sleek and fast, and was flying with a 20-25 knot tailwind. I was pumped.
