The Gyro-community in Europe is growing. At least the german speaking countries found out that gyro-flying is the ultimate fun.

I now introduce myself:

My name is Angelo Troedhan and I have my gyro licence (the ASC-rotor wing licence, which I am proud of) since 2005. Right now my flightbook shows up 200 hrs. on gyros.

I fly with chartered Magni M16, ELA07S and sometimes MT03 (which still has a lot of technical problems and quality control in manufacturing)

Lucky as I am I live near the Hungarian border. In Hungary there are not so many restrictions for gyroists than in Germany thus we fly almost as free as in the USA.

To get an impression how it is here: just look up the HP (the only problem is: it is only in German):

I hope I will learn a lotta nu things in this forum

Greetings

Herzlich Willkommen, Angelo!

Guys, the page he posts is a GREAT example of rotorcraft promotion. Just look at these picture captions:

Gyro flying: Pure flying fun, in any wind

Flying a gyro (Flugschrauber, Autogyro, Gyroplane, Gyro) is like motorcycle riding in the sky -- but far safer

...shows you the world from its most beautiful side...

from a vacation paradise at the lake...

... or majestic scenery ...

... or aerial safaris in lonely steppes ...

... we can arrange your dream flight

... your photo-, film- or surveillance-flight

... or your training as a gyroplane pilot.

You can also hire our "Ikarus" as a spectacular billboard. Our creative team would be glad to advise you.

The comprehensive theoretical education for aspiring gyroplane pilots: the digital course-book with animations and video sequences (2nd edition).

(anyway, that's what the captions say. The digital coursebook sounds interesting -- we have those for other ratings in the USA but zip for gyro pilots but the old Abbot and older Bensen books which do not contain current knowledge or address current regulations).

As far as freedom is concerned, isn't that why we all (from Canada to Pakistan to Brazil to South Africa to Oz and NZ, and the US and all the nations of Europe) fly, at least at some level? On the ground we might have a hundred lowly cares, but in the sky on a sunny day with a tank of gas, every pilot is a king.

cheers
