Has anyone mounted the HKS-700E onto a Dominator? If so, how do you like it? Issues?
Thanks

John forget about it. Not enough power out of that engine. It would be like switching to a Rotax 503. It might make a good engine for a Basic no frills ligt as possible machine, but I still think it would not be a hot performer. For what a HKS costs I would look into one of the Subaru with Redrive packages Ernie sells.

Hmm.. Interesting. As it is, my Dominator is a very hot performer with the 582 - a bit too hot for my taste at this point in gyro flying for me. Probably sounds odd, but more power is something I do not want. Better fuel economy would be a happy thing now that regular unleaded here in the Sacramento valley is up to $2.25 and premium around $2.60
You are right though.. the HKS engines are pricey..

John, for the difference between what you were paying for fuel a year ago and what it cost now, you can burn a lot of fuel for what the conversion would cost!

you must not weight much! And I am sure most will disagree but I think running 87 or 89 Octane in the Rotax engines will be ok, Just my opinion

The HKS is probably a moot point for me anyway since a Kolb MK-III Xtra is in my near future. :)
