I have a tiny tach in a hirth f30 and measure 8000 rpm? the engine is supposed to run at 6500. The blades on the hely are running at normal speed . I have it wind it to the sparkplug. should I use the yellow wire from the stator and pick the pulse there?

Is there any time of reset or set up?

Chuck

Tiny Tach makes two types of units; one for two-strokes and one for four strokes. Are you using the correct one?

Chuck,

Another consideration on the Tiny Tach is to isolate the plug lead that you have the sensing wire coiled around. It seems that it picks up "noise" from the other wires if they are too close.
I had this problem initially when I used it (Tiny Tach) on the Rotec radial.
It is a great little tachometer once you get it going.

I am hoping and playing lotto. my next gyro is Ron's tractor. SO keep us update with the rotec engine.
wondering if I can make it retractable. just to make my life more interesting
