Got the 447 out for the third time this year. She's running great! Despite this nasty cold I've caught, I still had to fly. Cold air was burning up my sinuses so I quit early......It's always something!

Next time up I'm taking the camera with me!

Great Photo!

The Air Command is looking good. Did you stick with the prop pitch increase?

Tim, I added about 1 turn of the adjuster bolt on the Ivo. Now she's spinning 6250 right on the mark again. I never changed anything else & it started to over rev. So all I can say is the "flex adjustment" of the prop might have "relaxed" with time. But it is a simple matter to readjust pitch. Has anyone else had this happen?

Paul, I had to come up with some kind of excuse because it was so nice last night I could have burned at least 2 tankfuls til dark(or maybe a little after). It's so nice when your the only one at the airport.

Here's a shot of my Ivo "hub".

Closeup of the amazing 447. I had the upper & lower cooling shrouds powdercoated as well as all the red parts. As I wiped it down last night I thought " It looks as good as the day I picked it up from the shop".

When I added the Air Command "shocks" , notice how it eliminated the old attachment method for the landing gear struts- mast.

That is the JET-HOT black coating on the exhaust.

Well they want rain today, so back to the garage to work on the 2 seater.

Nice Work!

What are you doing on the 2-place?

Thanks Tim & Stan! Someday, If I ever feel like working again(have money!), I would like to convert her over to CLT with a new 503 upright conversion. In the meantime, as my bank account dwindles, everything is going into the SxS Elite. If anything happens to her, I'll be bankrupt, but I'll still have the old 447.

I'm really taking my time & trying to get everything right with the SxS before I even Bolt on those new blades. It's getting close to "raceday". I'll start another thread about where I am with it.

Great photos!

I still have not had a chance to fly the 447 with the new pitch setting.

The warm air is making me realize how spoilt I became during the winter and I would really like some more power. I don't need a lot more power but I would like to have a more confident climb on a full tank of gas.

All these pics, I don't even know who was flying the gyro now that I think about it! Miniature golf & Driving range along 222. I bet those golfers are trying to hit me!

The farmers were busy tonight. Must take a long time to plant these fields. And these fields are small compared to Stan F.'s area.

Tim you might want to try a R&D aerosports tuned pipe for your 447. I have heard about lot's of unhappy pipe customers, but I think that they didn't get the jetting right and just put on the pipe and went flying and this casued the problems. I am just taking a guess but I would say the pipe might add another 5 to 10 HP. It might make a big difference in your performance.

Ron,

Checked out the web site. I think I might try that. After the 2-place is done anyway. I was there once before a long time ago looking at their gearbox for use on a Rotax snowmobile engine I was thinking about buying. I forgot about them after that and did not realize what kind of numbers they were getting out of the 447 dynos! Thanks!

This sounds a bit too good to be true. Has anyone used this pipe? I'm wondering if there is a downside.

This is a shot of the old abandoned AT & T / Luccent Tech building along 222N. towards Allentown. Before they ruined this hill, this is where many of the first ultralight pilots foot launched the early powered handgliders. What a waste! P.S. Check out the ASI, I'm really cookin', but the 447 is cool.

Tim,

How's this for performance? This is a mile out of the airport and look at my altitude! It takes a little patience to get up to altitude with a 447. This was with a full 5 gallon tank and me at about 200lbs. Good thing the gyro weighs less than 254.

More power would just spoil you.
