I've not had much experience with gyros or flying for that matter. Always wanted to build something that flew and started with models when I was a kid. I grew up with the Bensen ads in the back of PM. Took flight training for a while (50+ hrs) and went to a fly-in somewhere near Dayton in Ohio a long time ago... even took a tandem ride in something that resembled a swing set. Toyed with a fixed wing project but kept upsizing my wants and downsizing my build space. Had joined the PRA then, scoured the magazines and looked at designs several years ago but never moved on the project... that was 2 houses, two dogs, one wife and two tuitions ago. Just got motivated to revisit the concept and sent for a set of JT-5 plans. Ambitious project I think... I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with JT-5 advice.
